Advocates for Health in Action (AHA) congratulates Brier Creek Elementary on earning an AHA Brains and Bodies Award at the Bronze level for the 2011-2012 school year! We applaud the school’s work to create a healthier environment for students and staff.  

We would like to invite you, staff members and parents involved in your wellness activities to a special presentation on Wednesday, May 30, 11:30 a.m. in the Board Room at the Wake County Public Schools Central Office at 5625 Dillard Drive in Cary. WCPSS Superintendent Tony Tata will announce the winners and help AHA present the AHA Brains and Bodies Award: Healthy Students Grow Here framed certificate to display in your school. As a Bronze level winner, your PTA also will receive $100 towards the school’s wellness initiatives after July 1!

We have EARLY RELEASE this Friday, March 23rd!  Dismissal will begin at 1:15 pm.  This Friday is also Trackout day for Track 4.  Track 1 returns on Monday, March 26th.

Quarter 3 ends this Friday for Tracks 3 and 4.  Report cards will go home.
 
 
We want to congratulate our two teams who participated in Odyssey of the Mind competition on March 3.  Ooh- Motional Vehicle and Odyssey Angels!!


 
 
We have received the Bronze Award in the Healthier US School Challenge!  This Challenge is a cornerstone of Let's Move!, an ambitious initiative to solve the childhood obesity epidemic within a generation.  As a winner of the Bronze Award, our school is among the very best of the best, going above and beyond the minimum requirements to help ensure our students live full and active lives.  Congratulations Brier Creek!  ...A Michelle Obama initiative!
 
 
Tracks 3 and 4 will have Class pictures and Individual pictures this Friday, March 9th.  Class pictures are $10.00 and should be paid at the time of the pictures on Friday.  Individual pictures will be taken and proofs will come home shortly thereafter.  Payment for Individual pictures is made after you have receive your proofs and make your selection.
 
 
Our 5th graders are headed to the White House!  This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Brier Creek Elementary 5th graders!  The tour of DC is guided by Holbrook Tours and our students will spend 3 days and 2 nights visiting the sites of DC with the main attraction being the White House!
 
 
Come experience a taste of Hawaii without actually going there!  We have planned a fun-filled, learning experience for you and your family!  Don't miss out!  See flyer below.
